MDCA Away from Home: Julio Montalvo Cuban Collective Concert

CCEMiami and Miami-Dade County Auditorium presents the Julio Montalvo Cuban Collective Concert on Saturday, October 12 at the Koubek Center.

Latin Grammy Award-winner Julio Montalvo will perform with his big band project, the Julio Montalvo Collective, offering an extensive repertoire from Latin Jazz to Afro-Cuban music. An ensemble of 6 musicians will perform original pieces and a selection of Cuban, Brazilian, and Latin Jazz covers.

Julio Montalvo Collective es el nombre general del proyecto que este maestro del trombón defiende como solista, una mezcla de ritmos afrocubanos con las nuevas tendencias del jazz moderno logrando una cálida fusión de New Latín Jazz. En este concierto, que presenta el Centro Cultural Español junto con el Miami-Dade County Auditorium, Montalvo se centra en la música afrocubana con toques de jazz latino y nos hace un recorrido de música instrumental y una variedad de temas cantados.
