Led by Sonia Destri Lie and Companhia Urbana de Dança
Virtuosic dancers from Rio de Janeiro fuse hip-hop, samba, capoeira, and contemporary dance in the boldly imaginative choreography of Sonia Destri Lie’s Companhia Urbana de Dança. This eclectic fusion will be a dance experience that is not to be missed. The workshop will use balance, perception of space, displacement, body awareness, and contemporary dance techniques to explore the ways in which urban dance embodies freedom. Students can expect challenging endurance exercises and strength conditioning, as well as opportunities to work in groups to create choreographic sequences. Open to all levels.
