MDCA Away from Home: José Negroni presents “Del Son al Flamenco”

José Negroni and Miami-Dade County Auditorium presents “Del Son al Flamenco” on Saturday, February 8 at the Koubek Center.

A unique sound journey through the music of Cuba, Puerto Rico and Spain, performed by the Puerto Rican/Spanish singer Ana del Rocío and the Cuban singer Freddy Lugo. Special guest features La Meche, the prolific Spanish Flamenco dancer, who will bring her amazing percussion touches to the performance. Under the direction three-time Latin Grammy® Nominee pianist and composer José Negroni, this unforgettable concert remembers the great legends of Cuban bolero, dance and flamenco music.

“Del Son al Flamenco” es un viaje sonoro único por la música de Cuba, Puerto Rico y España, interpretado por la cantante boricua / española Ana del Rocío y el cantante cubano Freddy Lugo. Como figura flamenca y dando unos toques de percucion junto a Negroni, nos acompaña la bailaora flamenca, La Merche. “Del Son al Flamenco” tendrá en escena unos músicos reconocidos por la academia latina y americana de Los Grammy, Federico Britos (violin), Nomar Negroni (Batería), Rafael Valencia (bajo), entre otros. Este gran concierto estará dirigido por José Negroni ( tres veces nominado a la academia de Los Grammy.) Sin duda este concierto popular y único, será una velada musical inolvidable, recordando a grandes leyendas del son cubano, el bolero, y el flamenco. Algunos de los artistas y compositores contemporáneos que representaron esta antología musical fueron; Tito Rodríguez, Olga Guillot, La Lupe, Benny Moré, Lola Flores, Rocio Jurado, entre muchos.
