Join us for this free spectacular day-long event with arts & crafts, food, activities, theatre workshops and a performance for the whole family! International Children’s Day features the theatre performance El Guardián de los Cuentos (The Guardian of Tales). See the full line-up for the day below:

Performance: The Guardian of Tales

Es el último día de la biblioteca y el bibliotecario irá abriendo muchos de nuestros cuentos favoritos y recorriendo sus aventuras. Una historia original que combina los mejores momentos de los cuentos tradicionales. Una obra dinámica que cuenta hasta cinco historias diferentes innovando la forma y la técnica en cada una de ellas con decenas de títeres de todos los tamaños, teatro de sombras y escenarios asombrosos. Propone no dejar que los cuentos y la imaginación desaparezcan. Presentada en Español. De Juan Muñoz y Inés Maroto, Dirigida por Juan Muñoz (Madrid, España). Compañía teatro: La Tartana Teatro.

It’s the library’s last day, and the librarian will open many of our favorite stories and go through adventures. An original account that combines the best moments of traditional children’s tales. A dynamic play that tells as many as five different stories while innovating both form and technique in each one through tens of puppets of all sizes, with shadow theatre and awe-inspiring sets. The play promises not to let the stories or the images disappear. Presented in Spanish. By Juan Muñoz & Inés Maroto, Directed by Juan Muñoz (Madrid, España). Theatrical troupe: La Tartana Teatro.

There will be a service fee of $0.75 per ticket when RSVPing online through Ticketmaster. RSVP in-person at the MDCA box office, open Monday-Friday at 9am-4pm, to avoid service fee charges.

RSVPs are not required, but highly encouraged due to limited capacity. 

This performance is part of the Hot Theatre Summer Series 2023 and the 37th International Hispanic Theatre Festival of Miami.
